Cherie Gaites is a regional creative leader, speaker, MC, choreographer and arts advocate with more than 35 years of experience in performance, leadership and community engagement.

Her passion for creativity began through dance, Eisteddfods and community theatre, growing into a lifelong commitment to helping people build confidence, connection and belonging. Throughout her career, Cherie has witnessed the transformative power of creativity and community, inspiring her to create spaces where people feel supported, valued and encouraged to participate.

As President and Life Member of Tamworth Musical Society and a member of the Tamworth Regional Arts Advisory Committee (TRAAC), Cherie is a passionate advocate for regional arts, inclusion and community participation. She has choreographed more than 19 productions, mentored performers and volunteers, and contributed to initiatives that strengthen creative and community connections.

Alongside her creative work, Cherie has built extensive leadership experience through Woolworths, where she has developed teams, mentored leaders and supported workplace learning and development. Her qualifications include a Certificate IV in Retail Management, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Mental Health First Aid, Food Safety Supervisor and Return to Work Coordinator accreditation.

Whether she’s speaking on stage, hosting an event, leading a workshop or supporting a community project, Cherie’s purpose remains the same: helping people discover confidence, embrace creativity and find a sense of belonging.
